Erica Stuckey
Owner/Chief of Laughs
I started Wind Rose in 2017 with a big dream: not just to open a school, but to build a community. Since then, that vision has continued to grow alongside our students, staff, and families. As the founder and director, I’ve worn many hats—from lead teacher and staff mentor to curriculum designer and administrator—and each role has helped shape the heart of Wind Rose. My focus has always been on creating a space where children feel connected, curious, and empowered.
My background includes a degree in Biology from the University of Arkansas and AMS Montessori certification from the Montessori Training Center of Southern Nevada. These experiences, along with my work in yoga, music, and foreign language curriculum, continue to shape our Montessori-inspired approach to education—one that values creativity and hands-on learning.
Outside the classroom, I’m usually in the woods with my own kiddo. I love mushroom hunting, bird watching, and exploring the natural world. For funsies, I also compose original children’s music on the ukulele and find joy in photography—creative outlets that keep me grounded and often find their way into our classroom in playful and unexpected ways.
Bec Forbes
Assistant Director
Bec has been dedicated to early childhood education since 2011, when she began her teaching journey while living in China. There, she founded and led her own preschool nestled in the vibrant hutongs of Beijing. Over eight years as both owner and lead teacher, she developed a deep passion for Montessori philosophy, gradually weaving its principles into her classroom. In 2020, she earned her AMS Montessori teaching credential to deepen that practice.
Now Assistant Director at Wind Rose Montessori, Bec draws on her international teaching experience and classroom leadership to support educators, guide curriculum development, and help shape a nurturing and intentional learning environment rooted in curiosity, nature, and independence.
Bec believes that education should be experienced—not delivered. She works to prepare environments that honour each child’s unique rhythms and sensitive periods, offering authentic opportunities for self-discovery and exploration. Her holistic approach aims to help children grow into confident, capable, and joyful lifelong learners.
Now happily settled in Ballard with her husband, daughter, and their scruffy senior pup Balthazar, Bec spends her free time indoor climbing, exploring local parks, and cheering from the sidelines at her kiddo’s weekend sports games.
Emily Bull
Lead Shire Guide
I’m Emily, the oldest of four, so I’ve naturally been in a teaching role for as long as I can remember. As a teen, I built my own babysitting network, which grew into nannying and eventually led me to earn my degree in Early Childhood Education. For the past five years, I’ve been teaching preschool with a focus on the Reggio Emilia philosophy, and I’m excited to now dive deeper into Montessori learning.
What I love most about teaching is building community and supporting children’s interests and curiosities as they unfold. Outside the classroom, you’ll often find me knitting, reading, baking, collecting records, or working on graphic design projects. I also love spending time with my dog, Ivy, and connecting with others through music—so don’t be surprised if I ask what you’ve been listening to lately!
Megan Coon
Lead Shire Guide
My love for working with children started early, helping in my mother's Sunday school and volunteering in our church nursery, then expanding as I ventured into nannying, where I witnessed children's development from infancy through preschool. My formal journey in early childhood education deepened when I discovered Montessori, starting as an assistant toddler teacher in North Bend, captivated by the independence and capabilities of young children.
Adventures later led me to West Seattle, where I became a lead teacher at a mindfulness-focused school, exploring young minds' depth with concepts like compassion and presence, and integrating outdoor learning. Outside the classroom, I'm a writer, yogi, meditation enthusiast, and an explorer of the metaphysical, passionate about crystals and Tarot, and a certified Reiki II practitioner.
At Wind Rose, I am drawn to the balanced approach of indoor Montessori work cycles and enriching outdoor exploration. I deeply respect the values at Wind Rose and am eager to contribute to our community, looking forward to growing alongside our students and exploring new adventures.
Taylor McNeal
Rivendell Lead Guide
I’ve been teaching for 14 years and hold an associate degree in Early Childhood Education with a background in Montessori. I’ve worked with children ages 2.5–6, both as a lead teacher and alongside other educators.
At Wind Rose, my goal is to create a warm, safe, and magical space for children to learn, play, and grow. Montessori is the heart of my work, but I also draw from play-based, Waldorf, and Reggio Emilia approaches to meet each child’s unique needs. I believe in protecting the magic of childhood through a balance of structure, creativity, and play.
I’m passionate about social-emotional development, modeling respect, compassion, and trust. In our classroom, children’s emotions are always welcome, and I use co-regulation strategies to help them build resilience and confidence in a calm, supportive environment.
Karina Sioson
Rivendell Assistant Guide
Hello! My name is Karina, and I’m excited to be part of Wind Rose Montessori as a support teacher. My journey in education began with aspirations of becoming a pediatric nurse, but I soon discovered my true passion—working with children in a learning environment.
Over the past eight years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children in various roles, including Assistant Teacher, Playroom Coordinator, and Behavior Technician. I earned my Bachelor’s in Early Care and Education from the University of Washington, further deepening my knowledge and commitment to early childhood education.
I have a special love for the Montessori approach, as it fosters independence, confidence, and a strong sense of community among children, teachers, and families. I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences that have shaped my career, and I’m eager to bring my enthusiasm, care, and expertise to Wind Rose Montessori.
Outside of work, you’ll find me spending quality time with family and friends or getting lost in a good book. I can’t wait to meet you and your children and look forward to a wonderful experience together!
