Ways Parents Can Get Involved in Our Montessori Classroom
TL;DR: You’re always welcome at Wind Rose! Share a skill, lead a project, join a walk, or celebrate our teachers. Give us a heads up, and we’ll help your child feel ready for your visit.
Ever wonder what your child’s day really looks like? Come see for yourself! Parent involvement is never required at Wind Rose, but it’s one of our favorite parts of community life.
Share What You Know
A career, hobby, or passion makes a memorable lesson. We’ve had an optometrist teach about eyes and a family lead a bird call sing-along with their favorite book, [Book Title] by [Author].
Create Together
No expertise needed! Lead an art project, or help with something bigger. One parent even helped our children make their own short film, with characters and narration all their own.
Join in Quieter Ways
Come on a walk, watch the work cycle, and finally meet the friends you’ve been hearing about.
Celebrate Our Teachers
Our teachers pour their hearts into your children and treasure being celebrated on birthdays and holidays. Ask your room parent about any upcoming gifts in the works.
Give Us a Heads Up
Leading a lesson? A month’s notice helps us plan. Visiting or joining a walk? A day or two is perfect.
Expect Big Feelings
Sharing you with the whole class is hard, and that’s normal! A quick preview helps: “I’m coming to help your class tomorrow. When I’m done, I’ll say goodbye and you’ll finish your day.”
Have an idea, or want tips to help your child prepare for your visit? Just let us know. We can’t wait to have you in the classroom!
